effie bowen is an anti disciplinary artist making work which examines how systems of power influence movement, agency, and attention.

They have exhibited work at The Institute for Contemporary Art Richmond, Bass + Reiner, Baby Company, Danspace Project, Ausland (DE), Ponderosa (DE)

and performed at The Kitchen, The Whitney, Tanzhaus Zurich, Tanz im August, MoMA PS1, The Guggenheim, ICA Boston and Performance Space New York.

effie has a BFA in Dance from Hollins University and an MFA in Sculpture and Extended Media from Virginia Commonwealth University.
